Council-directed Health Assessors across NSW
Health Professional Councils Authority
A rewarding opportunity is now open for new Council-directed Health Assessors to play a key role in protecting the public. Council-directed health assessors undertake essential health assessments of NSW health practitioners and students. They make recommendations on whether a practitioner or student they have assessed is impaired under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW) and if so what restrictions on their practice may be required.
The demand for health assessments in NSW is increasing and we’re seeking applications for these qualified registered health professionals:
- neurologists
- psychiatrists (forensic psychiatry, general psychiatry, drug and alcohol psychiatry, psychogeriatricians, interests in cognitive impairment and neurodivergence)
- clinical neuropsychologists
- geriatricians (geriatric neurology, interests in cognitive impairment and neurodivergence)
- drug and alcohol physicians specialising in drug and alcohol dependence assessment and treatment.
For more details, please see the service description on the HPCAs website.
You can also apply via a single application process to work with all 15 health professional councils in NSW.
Applications close on COB 16 December 2024. For more information and to submit and application please go to the HPCA’s website.
Diversity and inclusion are core values of the HPCA and health professional Councils. Please reach out to us at HPCA-mail@health.nsw.gov.au if you require any accommodation or adjustments to complete the application or recruitment process.
