Dr María Alejandra Spir, is a rehabilitation research physician focused on traumatic brain injury in Medellín Colombia and is the president of the SIG Young WFNR. Ms Sonal Chitnis is Associate Professor in Speech Language Pathology at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University, School of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, Pune, India. She is a taskforce member of Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation  and is founder member and coordinator SIG Clinical Aphasiology of Indian Speech Language Hearing Association. Dr Spir and Ms Chitnis will draw upon their experiences as an academic faculty member and a clinician, with the added dimension of navigating these roles as a woman in the field. By sharing their experiences, challenges, and achievements, we aim to provide insight into the diverse trajectories these professionals pursue across various global contexts. Through this exploration, we seek to enhance our perspective of women in the neurorehabilitation landscape, promote gender equality, and cultivate a more inclusive and empowering atmosphere for future practitioners. We believe these insights and discussions will hold value and relevance for participants of all genders and backgrounds. Drs Madhavan and Mehta, chairs of the Women in Neurorehabilitation SIG, will moderate this panel.
